How We Work                                                                                                      

We follow a carefully designed financial planning process so that you know exactly what is happening at each stage.

The Engagement stage is to arrange an introductory discussion with you which will be conducted with you entirely at our expense.  During this discussion we will explain to you the levels of service we provide and give you an indication of the costs involved.  (This may be a telephone conversation with you to outline our services).

Discovery stage we arrange a face to face meeting to identify your primary financial needs and objectives and answer any queries concerning services and/or costs involved.  At this meeting we will ask you for:-

 

  • A signed copy of the Client Agreement
  • A completed Factfind with supporting documents
  • A completed Risk Profile Questionnaire, if appropriate
  • A letter of authority for each plan you require advice on
  • If applicable, a cheque for any initial fee due (e.g. non refundable mortgage fee) and a commitment to proceed

 

The next step (Research and Analysis) requires us to assess the information you have provided, develop an appropriate solution matched to your requirements and to prepare a summary report highlighting the recommended actions.  During this stage we may need to contact your existing plan providers/mortgage lender etc.

Once we have constructed our recommendation(s), we will take you through it stage by stage (Plan Presentation).  It will set out specific recommendations designed to achieve your stated objectives over an agreed time period.  At this time we will seek your commitment to proceed and agree a method of payment of any fees applicable. 

The Implementation of the plan is where we will complete and forward all applications to the providers on your behalf.

Finally, where an Ongoing Service and Relationship is agreed, we will help you to review your plans to make sure they remain on track with your objectives.    This gives you the opportunity to make any changes to your plans to reflect your personal circumstances, financial market conditions or relevant legislative changes. 

Are we covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)?

We are covered by the FSCS. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim.

Investments

Most types of investment business are covered up to a maximum limit of £50,000

Insurance

Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 90% of the claim, without any upper limit.

For compulsory classes of insurance, insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the claim, without any upper limit.

Mortgages

Mortgage advising and arranging is covered for 100% of £50,000
